Wine Tour! - Wine Tour Bekaa! - Bekaa Valley

  • Lebanon stands as one of the oldest hubs for wine production globally, with the Phoenicians playing a crucial role in disseminating wine throughout the ancient Mediterranean. Despite the region's historical conflicts, Lebanon maintains an annual wine production of approximately 600,000 cases. In recent times, the industry has experienced remarkable growth, with the number of wineries increasing from 5 in 1998 to over 50 today.

    Embark on an extraordinary journey into the heart of some of the world's most enchanting vineyards, starting with "The Bekaa Valley." Our wine tour will take you to renowned establishments such as Ksara, Château Nakad and Château Heritage.

    Our first stop is Ksara, named after "ksar" (fortress) due to its historical role as a fortress during the Crusader era. Dating back to 1857, Ksara is Lebanon's oldest winery, featuring natural caves and a sprawling 2 km underground network beneath the Chateau Ksara estate. Immerse yourself in a documentary, explore the caves, and savor the rich flavors of their wines.

    Next on our itinerary is Château Nakad, a family-run winery rooted in three generations of winemaking tradition in the Bekaa Valley. Built atop wine cellars dating back to the Bronze Age, the winery showcases a deep passion for soil, wine, and grapes. Led by Mr. Jalal Nakad, we'll explore the winery and indulge in a tasting session featuring their wines and Arak Al Samir brand.

    Our final destination will be Château Heritage, owned by Mr. Dargham, former president of Qabb Elias and a close friend of Vamos Todos. Here, in addition to wine tasting, we'll have the unique opportunity to taste cognac directly from the cave. It's an experience that will tantalize your taste buds with the finest products straight from the winery.

    Following this delightful winery experience, we will proceed to a charming local restaurant at Domaine de Chouchene, offering a delectable spread of special Lebanese cuisine. Lunch will be served alongside refreshing soft drinks, providing the perfect culmination to our enriching journey.

    WHAT TO GET: Light snacks that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits, water, cap, sunglasses and sunscreen. Wear comfortable shoes such as hiking shoes and always keep a windproof jacket in your backpack.

    SPECIAL RATES:
    - Children with the age of 10 and younger will have a discount of $5.
    - Children/ Teenagers between the age of 11 and 18 will have a discount of $4.
    - University students will have a discount of $3 provided that they present their university card.
    - Groups with 5 to 9 persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a $2 discount.
    - Groups with 10 or more persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a $3 discount.

    PAYMENT TERMS:
    - Cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged half-price.
    - Reservations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged an extra $2.
    (e.g. Cancelling or booking for a Sunday’s event on Saturday will be subject to the above terms).

    ESSENTIAL ECOTOURISTIC RULES & REGULATIONS
    - Smoking is strictly prohibited during the event
    - Always follow the guide on the designated trail
    - Do not go off road without notifying the guide
    - Do not get close to a cliff especially when the guide in charge tells you not to do so
    - Although accidents are covered by the insurance but they remain under the responsibility of the member
    - Sometimes, due to reasons beyond our control, slight modifications to the program may occur. Ecotourism rules must be followed, otherwise personal accidents will not be accounted for by the insurance.
