Hiking Trip - Anfeh Hike & Tour - Koura District
Anfeh Hike
Join us for a fantastic day of exploration, history, and stunning views! This charming village, known for its picturesque landscape of small white houses, windmills, and salt marshes along the rocky Mediterranean beaches, attracts many visitors. With its historical monuments, ancient churches, and an archaeological site on the peninsula, Anfeh is a must-visit destination on the northern coast of Lebanon.
We will begin by exploring the narrow streets of Anfeh, an ancient village rich in ruins and caves. You will have the chance to visit a centuries-old Byzantine church and other significant historical sites, with the Anfeh Citadel as the highlight. This Crusader relic is steeped in history and houses artifacts such as ancient tombs, mosaic fragments, olive presses, and salt pans. Notably, the citadel features a rock-hewn moat known as Al-Khandaq.
After our visit to the citadel, we will follow an easy trail leading to Saidet el Natour, an ancient monastery offering breathtaking views and excellent photo opportunities.
Along the way, we will take a break in one of Anfeh's natural wonders—a beautifully arranged cave—where we will enjoy a delicious homemade lunch.
Note: This hike is of moderate difficulty, covering approximately 9 km through natural landscapes and the charming streets of Anfeh.
