Wine & Arak Tour! - Wine & Arak Tour! - Bekaa Valley

  • Our monthly wine tours have always been a hit, but this time, we're adding a unique twist by including arak tasting alongside the wine experience.

    Arak, often referred to as 'the milk of lions,' is Lebanon's national alcoholic beverage known for its potent character. This colorless spirit is flavored with anise and transforms into a milky-white liquid when water or ice is added. It's highly sought after by those who appreciate fine dining, good company, and the Mediterranean way of life.

    During this event, we'll visit three prominent Wine & Arak factories.

    Our first stop will be Domaine Des Tourelles, the second oldest winery in Lebanon, founded in 1868 by Francois-Eugène Brun. Winners of numerous international awards, a visit to their yellow stone and cedar wood cellars offers a glimpse into the estate's rich history. Here, we'll have the privilege of tasting their various wine offerings, as well as their renowned Arak Brun, considered one of Lebanon's premier arak brands.

    Next, we'll visit Château Nakad, a family-run winery rooted in three generations of winemaking tradition in the Bekaa Valley. Built atop wine cellars dating back to the Bronze Age, the winery showcases a deep passion for soil, wine, and grapes. Led by Mr. Jalal Nakad, we'll explore the winery and indulge in a tasting session featuring their wines and Arak Al Samir brand.

    Our final destination will be Château Heritage, owned by Mr. Dargham, former president of Qabb Elias and a close friend of Vamos Todos. Here, in addition to wine tasting, we'll have the unique opportunity to taste cognac directly from the cave. It's an experience that will tantalize your taste buds with the finest products straight from the winery.

    After our delightful winery visits, we'll head to Khan El Maksoud for lunch. Nestled within the Taanayel eco-lodge, this charming establishment resembles a traditional Bekaa village, complete with mud brick houses surrounding a central green courtyard. It's the perfect way to conclude our tour.

    PRICE: 60$ per person including transport, wine tasting, guides, insurance and lunch.

    WHAT TO GET: Light snacks that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits, water, cap, sunglasses and sunscreen. Wear comfortable shoes such as hiking shoes and always keep a windproof jacket in your backpack.

    SPECIAL RATES:
    - Children with the age of 10 and younger will have a discount of 5$.
    - Children/ Teenagers between the age of 11 and 18 will have a discount of 4$.
    - University students will have a discount of 3$ provided that they present their university card.
    - Groups with 5 to 9 persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a 2$ discount.
    - Groups with 10 or more persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a 3$ discount.

    PAYMENT TERMS:
    - Cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged half-price.
    - Reservations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged an extra 2$.
    (e.g. Cancelling or booking for a Sunday’s event on Saturday will be subject to the above terms).

    ESSENTIAL ECOTOURISTIC RULES & REGULATIONS
    - Smoking is strictly prohibited during the event
    - Always follow the guide on the designated trail
    - Do not go off road without notifying the guide
    - Do not get close to a cliff especially when the guide in charge tells you not to do so
    - Although accidents are covered by the insurance but they remain under the responsibility of the member
    - Sometimes, due to reasons beyond our control, slight modifications to the program may occur. Ecotourism rules must be followed, otherwise personal accidents will not be accounted for by the insurance.
