Hiking Trip - Baakline Hike - Chouf District

  • BAAKLINE
Baakline is a perfect destination for hikers and nature lovers, nestled in the stunning Shouf region, known for its lush forests and preserved nature. The village is home to a unique National Library, built in 1897 during the Ottoman Empire and restored in 1987.

It houses historical documents and symbolizes Lebanese resilience and freedom, ironically located in the former Grand Serail, once a prison for intellectuals and the Ottoman Governor’s headquarters. After visiting the library, the hike begins, winding through dense forests and passing Houwwet Raidan, a 70-meter-deep natural pothole, before reaching the river.
