Hiking Trip - Bisri Hike and Tour - Chouf District

  • Bisri Hike with a Tour: Eshmoun and Deir El Moukhalles

    The Bisri hike is one of the most enchanting journeys, offering unforgettable views. It takes you along the riverbanks of the Bisri River, where you’ll traverse water streams, pass through tall tree forests, and be mesmerized by breathtaking views that will stay with you forever. The Bisri River, a tributary of the Awwali River, separates Mount Lebanon from the South. During this season, the natural beauty is at its peak, with the river’s water level being robust, making it the perfect setting for a memorable hike.

    Hike Details:
    • LEVEL 2 (6km): Easy walk along the riverbank, minor ascents and descents, ideal for photography.
    • LEVEL 5 (10km): More challenging, with some uphill sections.

    Additional Stops:
    • Eshmoun Ruins:
    o Phoenician temple complex dedicated to the healing god Eshmoun.
    o Includes Roman-era colonnades, mosaics, and Byzantine church remnants.
    o Known for its preserved Phoenician inscriptions.
    • Deir El Moukhalles Monastery:
    o Historical monastery built in 1711 on an ancient site.
    o Offers panoramic views and houses icons, manuscripts, and religious artifacts.

    Lunch:
    Enjoy a delicious meal in a local restaurant.
