    Vamos Todos, in partnership with the Municipality of Khenchara Al-Jwar, is excited to present a unique and diverse event in the heart of the Metn region, specifically in the charming village of Khenchara Al-Jwar.

    This eco-tourism initiative features four scenic trails that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the rich culture and heritage of the village. Khenchara Al-Jwar is renowned for its abundant springs, small museums, wineries, and historic churches, making it the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable experience.

    The event combines hiking with cultural explorations, historical site visits, and a delightful wine-tasting experience. We’ve chosen Khenchara for its exceptional beauty and variety, offering something for everyone to enjoy.

    Our adventure will begin at the "Moukarzel Hotel," one of the oldest establishments in the area, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Sannine, Jabal el Kneise, and Beirut. From there, we’ll trek through scenic pine forests until we reach the main water spring of the village, "Ain el Smaydiyye," located next to the first winery.

    As we continue, we’ll pass another spring, "Beit Ayal," and come across a grape molasses press near an ancient, unidentified tomb.

    Next, we’ll explore "Sheer el Habes" or the "Prison Cliff," a historical site believed to have been used by the Ottoman Empire to imprison hostages.

    Our journey will culminate at the historic St. Jean Monastery, where we’ll explore its ancient underground churches and enjoy a tasting of the exquisite wines from "Couvent St. Jean."

    By the end of this 7 km hike, participants can choose to continue for an additional 2.5 km of both uphill and downhill trekking to visit a centuries-old water mill.

    Finally, we’ll gather in the village square to savor and purchase "Qurban," a beloved specialty sweet bread unique to the village.

    WHAT TO GET: Lunch, light snacks that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits, water, cap, sunglasses and sunscreen. Wear comfortable shoes such as hiking shoes and always keep a windproof jacket in your backpack.

    SPECIAL RATES:
    - Children with the age of 10 and younger will have a discount of $4.
    - Children/ Teenagers between the age of 11 and 18 will have a discount of $3.
    - University students will have a discount of $2 provided that they present their university card.
    - Groups with 5 to 9 persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a $2 discount.
    - Groups with 10 or more persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a $3 discount.

    PAYMENT TERMS:
    - Cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged half-price
    - Reservations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged an extra $2.
    (e.g. Cancelling or booking for a Sunday’s event on Saturday will be subject to the above terms)

    ESSENTIAL ECOTOURISTIC RULES & REGULATIONS
    - Smoking is strictly prohibited during the event
    - Always follow the guide on the designated trail
    - Do not go off road without notifying the guide
    - Do not get close to a cliff especially when the guide in charge tells you not to do so
    - Although accidents are covered by the insurance but they remain under the responsibility of the member
    - Sometimes, due to reasons beyond our control, slight modifications to the program may occur. Ecotourism rules must be followed, otherwise personal accidents will not be accounted for by the insurance.
