Sightseeing Tour - Ftouh Keserwan Sunset & Sightseeing Tour - Keserwan District

  • One of the most traditional villages of Ftouh Keserwan, is where we are heading together, Kfour!

    The name of the village goes back to the Syriac, similarly to a large number of Lebanese villages, meaning the plural of Kafr, or the large assembly of houses. This village is rich in old houses and churches which we will see a big part of during our walk. They are all linked through old streets and walking paths.

    We will walk on a downhill track where the whole Gulf of Jounieh and Beirut cityscape can be seen. This is where we will stop to watch a wonderful sunset!

    Then, we will head to see the Phoenician and Roman ruins in Ghineh including the remains of a tomb, a Roman temple and cellars as well as Adonis and Astarte Rock. One may see a massive boulder on which there is a carved bas-relief which made Renan think of the legend of Adonis who was attacked by a great wild boar. These sites are a must see.

    After this stop, we will be visiting a small but remarkably beautiful village. Zeaitre is a special village, which name is derived from “Berkit Zeaiter” which is Zeaiter pond that was located in the village. There is also another explanation behind the name which is the abundance of wild “Zaatar” that can be found in the surrounding nature of the village.
    We will all sit together in a beautiful setting at a 250 years old traditional Lebanese guesthouse to eat a delicious homemade dinner prepared specially for us, before heading back to Beirut.

    WHAT TO GET: A light snack that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits and water. You must wear hiking shoes or comfortable walking shoes. Get a light jacket since it gets cold during the last hours of the day and at night. Don’t forget to get a flashlight.

    SPECIAL RATES:
    - Children with the age of 10 and younger will have a discount of 4$.
    - Children/ Teenagers between the age of 11 and 18 will have a discount of 3$.
    - University students will have a discount of 2$ provided that they present their university card.
    - Groups with 5 to 9 persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a 2$ discount.
    - Groups with 10 or more persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a 3$ discount.

    PAYMENT TERMS:
    - Cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged half-price
    - Reservations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged an extra 2$.
    (e.g. Cancelling or booking for a Sunday’s event on Saturday will be subject to the above terms)

    ESSENTIAL ECOTOURISTIC RULES & REGULATIONS
    - Smoking is strictly prohibited during the event
    - Always follow the guide on the designated trail
    - Do not go off road without notifying the guide
    - Do not get close to a cliff especially when the guide in charge tells you not to do so
    - Although accidents are covered by the insurance but they remain under the responsibility of the member
    - Sometimes, due to reasons beyond our control, slight modifications to the program may occur. Ecotourism rules must be followed, otherwise personal accidents will not be accounted for by the insurance.
