Hiking Trip - Kfour Ftouh Keserwan Hike - Keserwan District
Explore Kfour: A Traditional Village in Ftouh Keserwan
This time, our destination is Kfour, one of the most traditional villages in Ftouh Keserwan!
This hike is organized in collaboration with the Kfour Municipality, the Municipalities Union of Keserwan, and the Kfour Scouts, who may join us during the event.
The name "Kfour" has Syriac origins, much like many other Lebanese villages, and it signifies the plural of "Kafr," referring to a large assembly of houses. Kfour is renowned for its historic homes and churches, many of which we will encounter along our walk. These sites are interconnected by charming old streets and footpaths.
Our journey begins as a united group with a visit to a museum house and library owned by Mr. Abi Saab, a notable figure who has made a lasting impact on the village's history. Following this, we’ll embark on a downhill trail that offers breathtaking views of the Gulf of Jounieh and the Beirut skyline, culminating at Ain el Kroum, where we’ll take a moment to relax and soak in the nostalgic ambiance.
After our break, we will split into two levels: Level 3 will follow an easy yet scenic route leading to the endpoint, while Level 6 will tackle a more challenging uphill trail to reach the Church of St. Georges.
After completing our hikes, we’ll head to a charming guesthouse for a delicious homemade lunch. Finally, we’ll return to Beirut with cherished memories of our day in Kfour!
