Hiking Trip - Falougha Sunset - Baabda District

  • Undoubtedly, a sunset hike in Falougha! This serene village nestled in Mount Lebanon is the quintessential Lebanese summer destination. It boasts lush green hills, numerous water ponds, and two intersecting rivers.

    This charming gem has retained its 19th-century charm, with picturesque red rooftops, stunning landscapes, pine and cedar forests, and the iconic Lamartine rock, where the renowned French poet Lamartine found inspiration.

    Falougha is also renowned for being a filming location for the popular Al Hayba series and for being the site of the first raising of the Lebanese flag, in the Falougha Cedar forest.

    Our journey in Falougha will begin with a visit to the Lamartine rock, followed by a stroll through the Cedar forest. We'll then embark on a 7 km moderate to easy hike along the scenic water ponds, soaking in the mesmerizing sunset hues that surround us.

    Our hike will conclude in the village of Falougha, where we'll gather around a campfire and enjoy Sage Manakichs, roasted corn, and potatoes. Dinner will be served in this picturesque mountain setting before we make our way back to Beirut.

    WHAT TO GET: A light snack that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits and water. You must wear hiking shoes or comfortable walking shoes. Get a light jacket since it gets cold during the last hours of the day and at night. Don’t forget to get a flashlight.

    SPECIAL RATES:
    - Children with the age of 10 and younger will have a discount of 4$.
    - Children/ Teenagers between the age of 11 and 18 will have a discount of 3$.
    - University students will have a discount of 2$ provided that they present their university card.
    - Groups with 5 to 9 persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a 2$ discount.
    - Groups with 10 or more persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a 3$ discount.

    PAYMENT TERMS:
    - Cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged half-price
    - Reservations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged an extra 2$.
    (e.g. Cancelling or booking for a Sunday’s event on Saturday will be subject to the above terms)

    ESSENTIAL ECOTOURISTIC RULES & REGULATIONS
    - Smoking is strictly prohibited during the event
    - Always follow the guide on the designated trail
    - Do not go off road without notifying the guide
    - Do not get close to a cliff especially when the guide in charge tells you not to do so
    - Although accidents are covered by the insurance but they remain under the responsibility of the member
    - Sometimes, due to reasons beyond our control, slight modifications to the program may occur. Ecotourism rules must be followed, otherwise personal accidents will not be accounted for by the insurance.
